About the Team
A central pillar of Customer Insights at Lowe’s is the Market Share team, dedicated to uncovering market trends and assessing our performance against competitors on both industry and category fronts. This team harnesses internal and external sources to provide valuable insights into market share and shopper behavior across various categories and rivals, ultimately elevating Lowe’s competitive edge. They achieve this through comprehensive reports, targeted analyses, efficiency evaluations, and collaborative efforts with vendors. By validating and onboarding new sources, delivering regular reports, and offering actionable recommendations through in-depth category, brand, or competitor analysis, this team excels in addressing high-visibility requests. They work hand in hand with critical functions across the business, providing tailored insights and recommendations that empower different business segments.
Job Summary:
In this role, the candidate will embark on an exhilarating journey, engaging in both short-term and long-term projects that leverage large and diverse data sets. Through the exploration of market and competitive intelligence, they will uncover transformative trends and patterns that influence Lowe’s business and elevate its market position. The candidate will demonstrate a keen understanding of requirements, expertly extract data from a multitude of internal and external sources, and synthesize it to generate impactful reports and analyses that deliver strategic insights for business stakeholders. With exposure to a wide array of data sources, they will masterfully triangulate information to create outstanding reports and dashboards
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
1. Market Research & Customer Trends
Leverage vendor data, existing market research reports and internal data to identify key trends.
Analyze customer data from multiple sources (internal, vendor, online) to understand behaviors and action points.
2. Data Analysis
Conduct data analysis using appropriate methodologies to extract solutions.
Support teams in Merchandising, Store Operations, and Marketing by providing data-driven recommendations.
3. Research Data Management & Quality Control
Collaborate with data operations teams to manage research data infrastructure.
Perform quality checks on third-party data to ensure accuracy in reports, trackers, and dashboards.
4. Collaboration & Cross-functional Communication
Work closely with teams in Bangalore and the US to define research needs and methodologies.
Present insights and analysis findings to management and cross-functional teams.
5. Process Improvement & Efficiency
Contribute to improving process efficiencies in ongoing projects such as monthly validation and dashboards.
Assist in automating and optimizing research processes for better data management.
6. Industry Trends & Continuous Learning
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new research methodologies.
Be open to learning new tools and techniques to enhance data analysis and research capabilities.

Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in Business / Statistics / Analytics
Market Research / consulting background is preferable
Skill Set Required
Primary Skills (must have)
- Key skillsets: Power bi, SQL, Customer Insights, Excel, Power Point, syndicated data sources
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Business understanding – Key company priorities, linking analytical requests to business problems.
- Consulting Skills - Ability to impact business decisions through analytics and research.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to implement and improve operational processes.
Secondary Skills (desired)
- Familiarity with business intelligence or data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Data analytics tools and software like SQL, Python, Teradata, Hadoop is an added advantage.
- Experience working on statistical models would be a plus.
- 1+ years of experience in working in customer service, retail, e-commerce, or other customer-facing industries.
