In this role, you will be responsible for managing fraud losses while optimizing revenue opportunities on online Western Union transactions. In this role you will use your analytical skills to develop and maintain a suite of risk models and rules to ensure our customers, as well as Western Union, are protected against fraud. 

Role Responsibilities

  1. Develop real time and batch risk models to screen online transactions and stop fraudulent ones
  2. Document and communicate model results and insights internally
  3. Support Senior/Staff Risk Scientists with ad-hoc analysis in response to internal and external requests
  4. Continuously track and evaluate the effectiveness of risk models and rules 
  5. Analyze online transaction activity to identify loss reduction opportunities and devise actionable plans to exploit such opportunities
  6. Profile customer behavior to identify opportunities to enhance model/rule performance.

Role Requirements

  1. 1-4 years of relevant experience. Data analytics related Master thesis or certified coursework projects will add additional value.
  2. Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  3. Strong communication skills to convey fraud insight
  4. Ability to analyze problems and produce justification to enhance fraud decisions. 
  5. SQL and at least one of the Python/R programming experience and aptitude to learn on the job.
  6. Working knowledge of developing predictive models like logistic regression, decision tree etc and machine learning techniques .
  7. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Power BI/PPT 
  8. Exposure to cloud systems like AWS Sage maker/ Dataiku is preferred
