Amazon has a hot 6-month Front-End Engineering Internship available to students who are excited to develop the front-end for the most dynamic and scalable Web applications in the world. At Amazon, the world’s most customer-centric company, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), the work may be as mesmerizing as it is challenging, and front-end engineers are at the forefront of the action working to produce response-driven, intuitive customer experiences for the millions of customers globally.

This internship is perfect for somebody who loves working with JavaScript, React, Angular, CSS, HTML, and modern day front end tooling. Interns will be working in a lean, agile environment, closely with our senior engineers and UX designers to create interactive, high-performance interfaces for web applications at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement dynamic web-based user interfaces with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  2. Develop reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
  3. Develop with the latest and coolest frameworks out there like React or Thyme Leaf or jQuery Work with bleeding-edge libraries and tools.
  4. Applications built for speed and scale.
  5. Work on code reviews, team discussions, and fostering best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Good grasp on web development basics like the DOM, Asynchronous Requests and Browser behaviour.
  3. Experience with at least one front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular.)
  4. And you constantly think about writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  5. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design.
  2. Ability to weigh the benefits of using front-end libraries and frameworks.
  3. Experience with front end testing methodologies and automated testing tools.
  4. Passion for learning new technologies and building user-friendly UIs.
